Introducing Voca@Hiroshima 2027

With Vocab@Hiroshima, we are delighted to welcome the Vocab@ conference back to Japan for the second time. The Vocab@Hiroshima international conference on vocabulary learning and teaching will be held in the historic city of Hiroshima in 2027, following previous successful conferences hosted in Wellington (New Zealand, 2013), Tokyo (Japan, 2016), Leuven (Belgium), and Maryland (USA, 2025).

We hope that the Vocab@Hiroshima conference will continue the tradition established by previous conferences in the series, gathering the world's leading vocabulary researchers to share the latest findings and discuss emerging trends in vocabulary pedagogy. Participants can expect presentations on innovative teaching methodologies, technological applications in vocabulary instruction, corpus-based research, and cross-linguistic vocabulary acquisition studies.

Beyond the academic program, attendees will have the opportunity to explore Hiroshima's stunning landmarks, including the iconic Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site of Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. The conference will be hosted at Hiroshima University's downtown campus. The conference venue and surrounding area offer easy access to authentic Japanese cuisine, traditional gardens, and cultural experiences that will enrich your visit to Japan.

We are excited to welcome you to Hiroshima for this landmark conference, where scholarly excellence meets cultural discovery in one of Japan's most historically significant and beautiful cities.
